Brand History: PetSafe® Pro is the first professional dog fence offered by Radio Systems Corp. As of September, 2006, Radio Systems Corp. owns both the PetSafe® Pro and Invisible Fence® brands of professional dog fencing.

Product Cost and Availability: PetSafe® Pro products are available exclusively through regional PetSafe® Pro and some Invisible Fence® installers. Pricing varies based on the area of the country in which you live, so you should contact your local Invisible Fence® or PetSafe® Pro installer for pricing information.

Warranty: PetSafe® Pro products include a lifetime product warranty. Warranty returns are generally handled through your PetSafe® Pro installer.

Batteries: Some PetSafe® Pro dealers include free batteries for the life of the product, while others charge for an annual battery plan. Either way, the receiver requires standard CR-2032 batteries that you can easily purchase from your local grocery or drug store. Purchasing batteries from a source other than your PetSafe® Pro dealer should not impact your hardware warranty.

Receiver Info: PetSafe® Prolite receivers include ten user-adjustable correction levels, meaning that you can change the correction level without intervention from your professional installer. The PetSafe® Pro Prolite™ receiver weighs approximately 49 grams. The PetSafe® Stubborn Dog receiver weighs approximately 118 grams.

Transmitter Info: The PetSafe® Pro transmitter powers up to 100 acres and does not include integrated lightning protection. Your PetSafe® Pro installer should offer supplemental lightning protection either as a standard part of the hardware package or at an additional cost.

Wire: The type of wire included with a PetSafe® Pro dog fence varies with each installer. The minimum wire quality you should expect is 18-gauge solid core wire, although 14-gauge wire is much more durable.

Installation and Training Support: All PetSafe® Pro dog fences include professional installation and training support. The level of training support varies with each installer -- some installers include only the initial training sessions and charge for additional support, while others offer training support as a standard part of the installation package. Make sure you understand exactly how much free training support you will receive when you purchase your PetSafe® Pro dog fence. Ideally, you'll receive at least 6 months of free, onsite training support.
